The bride closes her eyes, her imagination paints a house with love pouring out of its windows, her children’s laughter bouncing throughout the halls, and her husband right by her side. This moment is known in Western culture, as the moment where everything changes, but what has really changed? The woman described has just said two of the most talked about words, â€Å"I do.† Which paves the way into the topic at hand for analysis, marriage, the endeavor so rich in culture, tradition and practice around the world, not a string of words can describe it in a single sentence. There are so many topics and questions which will be uncovered in this analysis, such as: its definition, types, individuals involved, choosing the partner, ceremonies and rituals, and functions. All of the topics previously mentioned will not only encompass one culture, rather a global perspective with individual perspectives along the way.
